SWAT VALLEY, PAKISTAN - FEBRUARY 25: A Pakistani soldier keeps watch out his foxhole on a strategic mountain-top in Uchrai Sar on Monday, February 25, 2008, Swat Valley, Pakistan. The Pakistan Army has spent more than three months battling Islamic militants in the Swat Valley, reclaiming large swaths of land, but failing to drive completely the militants from its mountainous landscape. Once a major tourist destination, the Swat valley was overrun last year with Islamic militants intent on imposing hard-line Islamic rule. In November, 2007, the military staged one of its largest operations since its six-year involvement in the war on terror to drive the militants out. Pakistan's ongoing commitment to fighting Islamic militancy and terrorism is unclear with the formation of a new government after recent national elections. .
