LAHORE, PAKISTAN - JUNE 12: Pehlwanis (wrestlers) practice their fighting techniques at a local training pit, June 12, 2006, in Lahore, Pakistan. Pehlwani is a Persian form of wrestling brought into South Asia by the Mughals, dating back to the 5th century BC but it's popularity is dying in Pakistan due to a lack of funding and interest from the government. Decades ago, hundreds of men would be in constant training, now only dozens remain committed to the ancient sport, attempting to balance daily needs with the strict routine required of a pehlwani.
