KARACHI, PAKISTAN - OCTOBER 12: Members of the Young Baloch Boxing Club spar during training, Sunday, October 12, 2008, in Karachi, Pakistan. Lyari is Karachi's poorest, most dangerous, drug and crime-infested slum, but has produced the bulk of Pakistan's champion boxers. Boxing has been a way of survival for many of the young men, who are often sponsored by corporations and event the military, to box for them at events throughout the city and the country. Lacking in the most basic resources, including a sufficient diet, the young boxers have watched countless champions on television throughout the years, attempting to emulate their abilities.
